I do love my strong female leads. And Brenna didn't disappoint. She lost her family as a young kid only to one day accidentally find them shortly after finishing college. She didn't let it totally overwhelm her and she was willing for the most part to learn about her family but not give up her freedom. She was strong, funny, sexy, mature, intelligent, and has many Gifts. We don't even get to know ALL of them really yet. It's not everyday a young women finds out she's a succubus and this book mostly focuses on the succubus one. Obviously! Haha. But we do get to learn about a few of her others in the book.

The clan itself is really awesome and so are the people in it. All the clan members are really interesting to learn about and get to know. I really liked them all. People get asked all the time 'If you could have dinner with a fictional character who would it be?' and I would have to seriously think about if I would choose the clan or only 1 other character. That's how much I enjoyed them.

You have a guide to help pronounce the names and she included their meanings too. That was fun to read. There is even a guide at  the end of the book that covers the full list of telepathic gifts and their descriptions. Which even by itself is really interesting.

B.R. Kingsolver did an amazing job at creating this world. It's got mystery, action, romance, and of course sex. It is with more then one partner but so far it's one on one. But it does have some scenes where the heat level could have set this book completely on fire and held back here and there just a little bit. Don't mistake me it has PLENTY of naughty with an awesome story. I almost didn't agree to read  it because even though the cover is pretty it just didn't draw my curiosity. Charge me I'm guilty! It would have been been a mistake as I Really like this book! Did I mention the moment I finished it I bought book 2?

 Synopsis:

Book 1 of the Telepathic Clans Saga.

The history of the Clans, called the Sidhe by the Irish, stretches back to antiquity. The Goddess blesses Her people with 25 Telepathic Gifts. In addition to Telepathy, the Gifts include command over Air and Fire, Telekinesis and Teleportation. In over 2,500 years, She has never bestowed more than 15 Gifts on a single person.

Brenna Morgan was orphaned at eight when her parents were killed in a plane crash. Through one foster home after another, she carried the ornate, carved wooden box her mother had left with her, keeping it always a secret. Then one night she stumbles over a man who claims her as family.

Brenna’s life isn’t the same after she discovers her unusual and mysterious heritage. In addition to being a telepath, Brenna learns she has the Succubus Gift.

That’s just the beginning of her problems. Someone is stalking her. Then there’s the tall, dangerous woman who shadows her and hints a Goddess has linked them. And what is she going to do with a handsome, charismatic, womanizing man she knows she should avoid?

Some days a girl just wants to pull the covers over her head and stay in bed -- with a willing young man of course.

Urban Fantasy with a dash of romance. The Succubus Gift is a completely different take on the succubus myth. Beautiful women and hot men in a world with a hidden telepathic subculture

About the author

I made silver and turquoise jewelry for almost a decade, ended up in nursing school, then took a master’s in business. Along the way I worked in construction, as a newspaper editor, a teacher, and somehow found a career working with computers.

I’ve always been shy and I have spent a lot of my life alone with a book. I first tried to write a novel when I was 15, a science fiction book set in an alternate reality. I wrote about a dozen pages with a pencil. I kept it for years, occasionally coming across it and reading it. It was awful, and it kept me from trying again for a long time.

So I made up stories in my head to entertain myself. If I don’t have a book and I’m on a plane or someplace else that’s boring, such as driving across the country, I make up stories.

I received a Nook for my birthday a couple of years ago and loved it, and started reading about the revolution in e-publishing, and the success some indie authors had with self-published works. This past Thanksgiving, I was discussing this with a friend, and mentioned that I had conceived a story I thought might be appealing to some people. She encouraged me to write it down.

As to my other interests, I love the outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains. I’ve skied since high school, with one broken leg and one torn ACL to show for it. I’ve hiked and camped all my life. I love to travel, though I haven’t done enough of it. I’ve seen a lot of Russia and Mexico, not enough of England. Amsterdam is amazing, and the Romanian Alps are breathtaking. Lake Tahoe is a favorite, and someday I’d like to see Banff.

I have a very significant other, two cats and two Basset Hounds. I’m currently living in Baltimore, nine blocks from the harbor, but still own a home in New Mexico that I see too infrequently.
